Larry G. Widmer is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Business Counselor (CBC), MCMEA, and SBA designations.
Widmer specializes in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures with particular emphasis on valuation of business enterprises for clients. Related activities include debt structuring and securing sources of financing. He also owns several successful small Kansas-based business operations.
Larry started his career at DeLoitte & Touche after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance. Upon completion of an MBA, he joined the Dow Chemical Company, beginning in its Corporate Special Assignments program. Widmer advanced through a series of financial and business development positions during his 20-year career and was ultimately named an Assistant Treasurer.
In 1986, he was the lead investor and CFO in a $52MM LBO that utlilized both sub-debt and asset-based financing. He was responsible for acquisitions and internal growth that more than doubled the size of the company in four years. He also completed a successful divestiture of an operating unit that no longer fit the company’s strategic direction.
Mr. Widmer is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Institute of Certified Business Counselors, National Tooling & Machining Association, the Wichita World Trade Center, the Association for Corporate Growth and the Institute of Management Consultants.
