The Appraisal Industry Reinvented
In 2002, John started the National Equipment & Business Broker’s Institute (NEBB), which became an internationally recognized society and trade organization for training and certifying machinery and equipment appraisers. Their professional designation is CMEA, which stands for Certified Machinery/Equipment Appraiser. The members are located in 48 states, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Botswana, Africa, Australia, Canada, and Ireland. In connection with the NEBB Institute, John wrote the first USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) compliant software, which is used worldwide by machinery & equipment appraisers.
John is also the founder of the International Society of Business Appraisers (ISBA), which has now begun training, certifying, and providing support for business appraisers worldwide, following a similar path as the NEBB Institute.
